It seems like a pretty innocent question, right?  But, why DO YOU need marketing?Simple, how else will people know you exist?

The internet connects nearly everyone in the world, Thanks Al!, and in doing so has made exposure harder than ever.

Even in a very niche market there are thousands of other choices, how do they find you?


But what does that even mean now? Marketing can be used as a catch all term these days that can spill over into multiple disciplines.

So where do you start?

Here are two ways to start marketing yourself to more customers by rocketing to the top of search engines AND putting your services in front of those who want them.

  • Utilize Google Adwords – So Google is…..well you already know what it is. What you may not know is that Google AdWords is a FREE tool provided by Google that categorizes searches and allows you to search for traffic. You can see what people are looking for and using Meta Tags or Hashtags, discussed here, you can tag your website or social media page with keywords that people are looking for  in their searches. This is a great way of marketing to what your potential customers are already searching for, thus allowing them to find YOU.
  • Get Active Has your Facebook profile photo never been changed? Better yet is there minimal content on the page overall? How about your business website is dated and lacking in content? If you answered yes to any of these, then get to work. Create content and create content often. Engage your followers and remember to like/share/re-post as often as you can, and of course encourage sharing of your own content across pages or platforms. This gets your page out there by getting your followers engaged and working for you, thus driving YOUR PAGE up the search algorithms and exposing you to new followers or customers.
